How to deal with RSS-feeds in a pleasant way
A pleasant way to present feeds if you ask me.
How to deal with RSS-feeds?
This is something I am thinking about at the moment as well. As long as I used Linux Mint/Cinnamon I used a little applet for that. And it worked well; for my purposes it was absolutely sufficient.
Now that I am running Manjaro with Plasma I need a new solution, as there is no such applet. Before starting to use Pure Blog I never read any RSS-feeds regularly. But now I want to know what other "purists" have to say - and how they organize and present their stuff. I am getting to like this info-channel.
Last night I found and installed RSS Guard. It is a little bit too fat for what I do with it currently, but that may feel different when I have more feeds (from various sources, not just RSS, BTW) also on other topics on my radar. Which is very likely.
Right after the import it looks like this.
I could even import the lists of feeds that I had on Mint, which I had exported to a simple textfile. I only had to strip the content down to just the URLs - one per line. That way RSS Guard knew them all. I liked that.
The app as sich does not get into my way. It just sits minimized in my panel and waits until I feel like reading.
I have not even begun to discover all the possibilities this reader offers; and there are plenty. We will see.
